Columbia Ice was started in 2001 by Peter Boyko. The original shop location was in Edmonton 156th St. and had the capacity to make 5 tons of ice. Back then everything was manual. Then, in 2011 the company was purchased by Ernie Graveline, He decided 5 tons just wasn't going to cut it anymore.
In June of 2011 we began building our new plant in Acheson. By June 2012 we were making ice there. By 2014, we had no need for the Edmonton location anymore, and we fully moved to Acheson. Now we have 20 ton capability and all of our ice making and bag filling is automated!
Columbia Ice was recently purchased by Jake and John Silva who invested in a new ice machine, adding more daily production. We are excited about our future and look forward to better serving our customers in Alberta.
